Longboat Key's two championship golf courses are operated by Longboat Key Club. Play restricted to members, members' guests and guests staying at the Key Club resort. Nearby Sarasota and Bradenton boasts over 50 golf courses, with several more in the planning stages.

Bikers and rollerbladers can tour Longboat's bike path, winding 10 miles along Gulf of Mexico Drive (Keep an eye out for our wild peacocks!) Numerous private tennis courts are available for the island's many tennis enthusiasts. Public tennis courts are available at Bayfront Park and the Longboat Key Public Tennis Center located on Bay Isles Road (Behind post office) offers 6 Har-Tru courts.

Bayfront Park Recreation Center offers affordable and wholesome activities for youth, adults and seniors. Activities include sporting and special events, educational programs and health and exercise classes. It is also a great place to find a bridge game.

The Intercoastal Waterway provides ample opportunities for windsurfers, water-skiers, jet skiers, boaters and fishermen to pursue their particular passions. Charter a boat with or without a captain and explore the area's many bays and back waters; take to the Gulf for deep sea fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling.

Or relax. Take a romantic stroll on some of the finest beaches to be found anywhere in the world. Azure oceans, white sand and incomparable sunsets beckon the active and less active alike.
